A secret society, dark actions, violence, life threats and murder .. DS Colin Strong and journalist Bob Souter find themselves in danger when investigating.. Introduction The Wakefield Series #3  The third book in ‘The Wakefield Series’ is simply the best. Where each of the three books of the series can be read as a stand-alone for me, it is a great build up from Trophies (Book #1) and Torment (Book #2) to this third book. It is excellently written, contains a strong and fascinating plot with all the characters we have grown to love. The best friends Bob Souter the journalist and Colin Strong, the DCI, have got their jobs…

DI Strong and journalist Souter once again combine forces to investigate the cases of young women reported missing and a coldblooded Eastern European mob Introduction The Wakefield Series #2 This is the second in ‘The Wakefield Series’ by David Evans. In the first book, ‘Trophies’, we met DI Colin Strong and his team of the Wakefield CID – among which DS Kelly Stainmore and DC Luke Ormerod. We have seen Strong reconnect with his old schoolmate Bob Souter,  a journalist with the Yorkshire Post in Wakefield. The two men seem to work well together – Souter providing the necessary information to Strong’s investigations. Storyline The events in the Prologue take…

What have a suspected burglar and a murder victim in common? A secret box beholds mementos of crimes. Time for DI Strong and journalist Souter to investigate Introduction The Wakefield Series #1 Trophies is David Evans’ exciting crime debut, the first of ‘The Wakefield Series’. Detectives are my favourite genre and this one is set in the city of Wakefield in West Yorkshire. Behind the Wakefield Cathedral, opposite the city’s Town Hall we find the Wood Street police station. There we can find DI Colin Strong with his DS Kelly Stainmore and the team of detectives of the CID. Storyline In December 1999 a  man meets his murderer – a…

BOOKS FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES

STAY IN TOUCH

This page is exclusively for children’s books. Adults, read the reviews and remember your childhood books that stayed with you! Astrid Lindgren, A.A. Milne, E.B. White – just a few names you’ll no doubt recognise.

I feel strongly about opening up the wonderful world of books for children. If we can show children how fascinating, motivating and enchanting reading is we are already providing them with a better tomorrow!
A growing number of readers would like to read an audiobook - listen to it during a car drive or doing chores or perhaps just relaxing in a chair.

That’s why I also review audiobooks and hopefully, you will be interested. Read the audiobook reviews and get inspired!
